The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan celebrated International Human Rights Day with a distinguished event held at the Royal Cultural Center, under the patronage of Brigadier General Ziad Al-Nsour, Director of the Family and Juvenile Protection Department, and organized by The Cultural Association for Post Release Care. The event gathered a group of official figures and personnel from the Family andJuvenile Protection Department, serving as a platform to highlight ongoing efforts in human rights protection and the promotion of social justice in the Kingdom.

The ceremony was hosted by poet and visual artist Ghadeer Haddadin, who provided an introduction on the significance of this global occasion, emphasizing that human rights are not only legal entitlements but fundamental human values aimed at ensuring dignity and justice for all members of society.

In his speech, Brigadier General Ziad Al-Nsour affirmed that Jordan has spared no effort in ensuring human rights protections, highlighting that the Jordanian Constitution serves as the foundational document guaranteeing citizens' fundamental rights and freedoms. He stressed that this commitment goes beyond legal provisions, as it is an integral part of Jordan’s national identity, which actively seeks to uphold the principle of equality before the law and the dignity of all individuals. He also referenced the Royal Directives, which have been a guiding force in Jordan’s human rights approach, particularly in enhancing and protecting family rights from all forms of violence.

From his side, Mr. Younes Al-Omari, President of The Cultural Association for Post Release Care, spoke about the association’s role in promoting and spreading human rights culture at all levels. He emphasized that Jordan has significant opportunities to enhance human rights policies and implement international treaties that safeguard individual rights, such as the International Covenants on Civil and Political Rights and the Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights. Al-Omari stressed that this commitment is not just a legal obligation but an essential part of Jordan’s vision for building a fair and just society.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, 30 personnel from the Family and Juvenile Protection Department were honored in recognition of their outstanding contributions to protecting individual rights and promoting social justice. Their dedication reflects their unwavering commitment to serving the community and upholding the values of human dignity. This event was not just a recognition ceremony but also a reaffirmation of the importance of human rights and the ongoing efforts to develop Jordan’s legal and humanitarian framework.

In summary, the celebration stood as a living example of the fruitful cooperation between official institutions and civil society, reinforcing Jordan’s pivotal role in the region in protecting and promoting human rights.
